The Conformity Assessment Department operates as a structural division of the Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization and was accredited on July 14, 2017, in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065 requirements as a certification body for products, services, and works. The department conducts its activities in line with international best practices and national regulations.
The department provides certification services for domestically produced, imported, and exported food, agricultural, and industrial products, as well as a wide range of service sectors under the National Certification System. These activities contribute to ensuring product quality, safety, and reliability.
Conformity assessment is the process of verifying that products, services, processes, or management systems comply with applicable standards and regulatory requirements. This process supports the delivery of reliable, safe, and high-quality products and services to consumers.
Assessment and certification activities are carried out based on the principles of objectivity, transparency, independence, and impartiality. Following successful evaluations by accredited conformity assessment bodies, certificates of conformity are issued to qualifying products and services.
Certification enhances organizational credibility, increases customer confidence, and strengthens competitiveness in both domestic and international markets. It also contributes to consumer protection and the promotion of a quality-focused culture.
Following conformity assessment, organizations are expected to maintain compliance with all relevant standards and regulatory requirements. Failure to do so may be considered consumer deception and may result in legal liability under applicable legislation.
